I was shocked yesterday to hear that Anderson Cooper came out as being gay.
I really wasn’t shocked but more of surprised but not that in the fact he was gay. More that he just now came out. For some reason, I had thought he came out and was open about it for years now.
I am not sure why the media is making such a big deal about it. Do they want us to be more surprised than we are that he is gay or is it trying to call awareness that there is another smart and successful man who the community respects is gay? I wonder if sometimes it is more of a way to help offset some of the negative things that the church and other groups have put out there about gay people.
I don’t see Cooper being another Larry Brinkin, but another successful member of society. Maybe one day these types of stories will no longer be news worthy and people can focus more on issues that need attention.
I came across this article on Facebook this morning:
Savagely beaten, tied to a lamppost and burned alive: Horrific fate of hotel manager who was murdered ‘for being gay’
It is horrible for anyone to be killed, but beaten to death shows a lot of anger. What bothered me when reading the article is the deceptive title. You see, they do not know why he was killed. He was gay, so it could have been because of that, but no one knows yet. Why report something in the title when you have no clue if it is true or not?
Here is the article.
Another article states that he could have been sexually assaulted prior to the beating. The authorities are not ruling out that it could have been a homophobic crime, but once again, no one knows.
Here is that article.
I found another article that states the police had questioned the victim over alleged child indecency a few weeks prior to his murder. In this article, the police state there is no evidence to suggest that he was a victim of a homophobic crime nor that the indecency charges were a factor in the crime. Why is this the only article that I found that does not take the defensive approach when dealing with the gay community?
Here is that article.
This type of reporting is what sustains the claims that there is a gay agenda. Not that this agenda is trying to take over the world, but to change the way things are seen. Regardless of why it happened, what happened to this man was horrible and should not have occurred. I hope they find the person or people responsible soon.
